*LOOKING TO HAVE A 18/16U TEAM THIS YEAR. Contact JulieLubinsky@gmail.com if interested
Lehigh Valley age groups are the same as Parkland League.
Lehigh Valley games are on weeknights only. 12U T&Th, 10U &14U M&W
1. Instructional or Prep Level
The primary focus is on having fun while learning the basic fundamentals of the game. This program is designed for entry level players to learn the basics of the game. If your child is born in 2008, 2008 -2011, this is the program they should participate in. For girls with 2 or more years playing experience and significant skills, it may be appropriate to move up to play at the 10U level. This would be an exception situation and the ultimate determination of level of play will be made by the coaches based on an assessment of each girl's development and skill level.
Practices and games will be held at the Weisenberg field (located behind Weisenberg Elementary).
Contact Erin Funk at 610-295-4162 with any questions about the Prep level.

2. Recreational Level/Parkland League
The primary focus continues to be on enhancing skills while introducing competition and teamwork. This league is a recreational league and will play other recreational teams from the Lehigh Valley region. Teams will participate at the following levels in the Parkland Softball League: 10 and under (girls born in 2006 and 2007), 12 and under (girls born in 2004 and 2005), 14 and under (girls born in 2002 and 2003). Competition, while not as intense as the Lehigh Valley League, is still a component of this league. The Parkland League has minimum playing time rules and all players must be in the batting lineup to ensure active participation opportunities for all. If you are a member of a tournament travel team, such as the Phantoms or Flames, you cannot participate in this league. The Parkland League strives to balance competition by creating 2 divisions per age level where team numbers allow ensuring teams made up of girls with more experience and stronger skills (Div 1) are matched against like teams while teams with less experienced players and less developed skills (Div 2) are also matched. Players will be assigned according to the division which best suits their abilities.

3. Travel Level/Lehigh Valley League
The primary focus of the Lehigh Valley League is to continue to develop and refine softball skills for players interested in playing higher-level competitive softball, including tournament and high school level. The Lehigh Valley League is a competitive travel league for the most skilled and committed players. Games are played across the Lehigh Valley. Tryouts for this level take place in October with independent evaluators. LV Teams start practice in the winter. For 2017, NYAA will have LV teams at 10U, 12U, and 14U.
Lehigh Valley League games are scheduled on weekdays only (due to many players playing on weekend tournament teams).

NYAA Softball serves the Northwestern Lehigh School District area to provide both recreational and competitive softball opportunities for girls ages 6 - 15. It is the intent of this organization to encourage and actively promote good sportsmanship, leadership, discipline and respect among the team members, parents, coaches and provide a drug-and alcohol-free environment for our youth. It is the goal of NYAA Softball to see that every child, in every league, should participate in every game and play at least 25% of each sport season available.
