D. Playing Rules
Days, times, and field locations will be assigned by the NYAA. Any changes to the provided schedule must be approved by the NYAA.
Try to complete 4 full innings of play. If both coaches agree, more innings can be added, so long as no subsequent games or practices are delayed.
Early season games should start entirely off of the Tee. The decision for any other types of batting other than off the Tee must be agreed upon by both coaches.
If teams agree to coach-pitch or machine-pitch innings, keep the game moving by limiting the number of swings to (3 to 5) before allowing the batter to use the tee.
Don’t start new innings after the 90 minute mark.
Each team shall bat the entire roster each inning.
There should be no "outs" in the early season games. All runners may advance one base on each hit. The final batter will hit a grand slam clearing all of the bases. Players on the field should wait until the last batter is home before coming off the field.
All players on the roster may play in the field. Players shall be placed on the field in normal baseball positions. Remaining players shall be placed in the best spots available to fill in the field of play.
Coaches may be on the field or at the plate during games. Coaches may stop the game at any time for instruction but may not participate in the play. A coach may not physically swing the bat for a player.
In order to protect the players, there is NO... stealing, leading, bunting, sliding, or throwing bats or helmets. Coaches must correct these offenses with each offending player to make them more aware.
Runners may not advance on overthrows, passed balls, or on catch and carries.
Games are considered official and complete if started and then stopped for any reason.
