NYAA Cheering

FIRST PRACTICE - July 31st at 6pm.  Practices will be Monday and Thursday nights from 6:00 to 7:30pm at Northwestern Elementary School Parking Lot.

We have 4 squads aligned with the NYAA Youth Football teams we cheer for.

Age guidelines
Requests can be made for specific squad to accommodate multiple children in the program (football & cheer). Squads will also be determined by skill level and number or registered girls.

  • Flags: Kindergarten and 1st grade
  • 90 lbs: 2nd and 3rd grades
  • 110 lbs: 4th and 5th grades
  • 130 lbs: 6th,7th & 8th grades

Squads will learn cheers and a dance routine based on skill levels. Uniforms are supplied to the girls, however; additional items such as shoes, socks, bloomers and turtlenecks will be required. Some items can be purchased through fundraising.

Practice begins in late July and the football games are on Saturdays or Sundays from September to early November with a mix of home and away games.

The practice schedules will be set by the coaches on each squad.

There are many opportunities for parents to get involved with the cheering program including coaching, team mom, and concession stand or even wearing the mascot costume at the games.

If you have any additional questions or would like to volunteer, please contact the Cheering Director:
